Jason Pryce Memorial Fund

Our Purpose

The Jason Pryce Memorial Fund was established to honor the life and achievements of Jason Shakir Pryce.

The purpose of the fund is to award scholarships to students, who are graduating from high school and will be attending a College or University.  Currently a full scholarship is $1,000.

The student must model Jason’s life by being well rounded which includes having academic excellence and extra-curricular involvement.

The Life of Jason Pryce

Jason Pryce was given to us on March 20, 1984. He was a well behaved child and grew up to be one of the classiest young men in town. Jason was loving, gentle, and compassionate with a great sense of humor. He had a love for soccer and while in Elementary School and High School he played on various soccer teams. Jason belonged to the Full Gospel Christian Fellowship Church where he was very involved and sang on the choir for many years. He loved a wide genre of music and played the saxophone. In 2002 Jason moved to Atlanta where he attended Morehouse College. After being diagnosed with Carcinoid Cancer he had to move back home to Elmsford, NY. Despite his illness, Jason was determined to complete his higher education. He attended Fordham University from which he graduated in 2010 with his degree in Psychology. While in school, Jason was inducted into the Psi Chi National Honor Society in Psychology and received a Lifetime Honors award in recognition of outstanding scholastic achievement and excellence.

From 2007-2012 Jason fought valiantly against the disease that was attacking his body. He remained very spiritual and leaned on God for strength. Jason’s strong and determined character helped him get through this rough time in his life. Throughout his illness, Jason never complained or spoke negatively. Instead he had a positive mind set and spoke openly about what he was going through. Jason was a selfless person who cared so much about his family and friends. We are honored to carry on his memory by awarding a deserving student with the Jason Pryce Memorial Fund.
