Welcome to the Terri Allen Legacy Fund.  We have established this fund to extend Terri’s artistry and passion for the art of cabaret beyond her life. The legacy fund contributes to the activities of the Washington DC Cabaret Network as well as artists and organizations that advance recognition for music that authentically connects artists to audiences.

The DC Cabaret Network was founded in 1997 to increase the awareness of the art form of cabaret within the DC metropolitan area. The mission of the Network is to increase the opportunities for cabaret events and performances and build audiences who appreciate cabaret.  The Network is also connecting local cabaret artists and creating a “home” for performers where they can share information and grow artistically.  Their goals include providing performance and educational opportunities for cabaret artists, developing new cabaret venues, and building loyal audiences who support cabaret.

About Terri Allen

Terri served on the DC Cabaret Network from 1997 until her death in 2014. She was especially passionate about art from a woman’s perspective, championing the work of artists such as Amanda McBroom and Susan Werner. Her final show was “The Way of the Heart: The Music of Amanda McBroom” with Beverly Cosham and musical director George Fulginiti-Shakar.

Terri hosted monthly Open Mics for the DC Cabaret Network and nurtured many performers to pursue their own musical journeys. As a performer, Terri was known for her openly emotional musical interpretations, her sultry jazz sensibility, and her wry sense of humor. As a friend, Terri was known for her endless compassion, her generosity and warmth, and her unconquerable optimism.
