Zoë’s Colorful Legacy, was established November 2016, in loving memory of Zoë Camille Leach and is set to enrich the lives of children in need.
Our mission is to carry on Zoë’s vibrancy for living life and giving back. Zoë spent her time on earth spreading light and laughter. She had a strong christian faith and proclaimed daily to be a follower of Jesus Christ. She consistently demonstrated love and compassion for children and all Gods creatures. Zoë used her positive energy giving to, caring for, and helping the children and animals around her.
Beneficiaries of the fund are programs Zoë was compassionate about such as:
- The Childrens Developmental Class (CDC) at NMS and ACHS
- Horse Haven of East Tennessee
- Rhythm Ranch, helping children cope.
- Local Childrens swim programs
At a young age, Zoë suffered the tragic loss of her little sister in a drowning accident and internalized much of her struggle with grief. Like many, she hid her sadness thinking she would make others sad if she talked about it. Zoë preferred to make others smile and laugh, and that she did whole heartedly! In a fatal mistake, Zoë lost her life by accidentally taking to much prescription medication, thinking it would only subdue her sadness and undue guilt over her sisters death.
FACT: One young person in every classroom suffers the loss of a loved one.
The ZCL fund aspires to bring awareness to teenage grief by establishing a local teen grief awareness program and providing easy to find avenues for support. Zoë’s Colorful Legacy will make its first distribution within one year of its inception. Donors furnishing an email address will receive notification of all distributions and upcoming events. It is our hope that the fund will grow with community support and be able to make many distributions per year.
