RICK SHEA 510 MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Scholarship Award:
Scholarships of $2,500 will be awarded to five (5) graduating seniors from Medford High School based in Medford, Massachusetts in the spring of 2024.
Scholarship Guidelines & Priorities:
- Graduating seniors must have demonstrated positive-impact involvement during their time at Medford High both at school and in the community, with an emphasis on depth of contribution as opposed to number of activities.
- Must be pursuing further studies at a two- or four-year college or university. Exceptions may be made for post-high school education at a vocational school as determined by the Scholarship Committee. Applicants must be continuing their education in the academic year following high school.
- Required to submit a copy of complete high school transcript in order for the Scholarship Committee to evaluate each applicant’s academic performance over the past four years.
- Applicants must have the endorsement of their Medford High School Guidance Counselor on their application attesting applicant is a qualified fit for this scholarship program.
- All of the information requested on the application form is required for eligibility. Academic achievement, personal accomplishments, community involvement, financial need and response to the personal statement/essay question are all important factors in our choice of scholarship recipients, but none of these factors alone can either guarantee or disqualify an applicant.
- Completed applications must be received no later than April 15, 2024. Late applications will not be considered.
- Applications will be reviewed and recipients will be selected by the Rick Shea 510 Memorial Scholarship Committee.
- Scholarships will be presented by a member(s) of the Scholarship Committee during the Medford High School Scholarship Award Ceremony in May 2024.
