Keara Belle Obrzut Legacy Fund

Our beautiful free spirit Keara Belle Obrzut was taken from us in a tragic car accident on August 21, 2019, she was just 19 years old. Full of life, hope and promise, Keara inherited a passion for horses from her mother who put her on her first horse at the age of 2, it soon became a shared family pastime. At the time of her death, she was an accomplished equestrian on her way to a dream career as a professional rider with her beloved horse Cake. The love was mutual and Cake gave Keara Belle his all; she would not live to know their last performance would earn them the honor to compete at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show. Loved and respected by her fellow riders and horse lovers throughout the national and international equestrian community, she never missed an opportunity to cheer her barn mates and friends on and could be counted on for support and encouragement win or lose.

She was devoted to her family and they to her, whether traveling in their airstream to competitions, riding horses together, making cookies with

grammy Barb into the wee hours or just hanging out with their dogs and cat. Keara was a spitfire with a heart of gold who was always up for an adventure whether talking her parents into letting her fly to Germany to meet Cake, taking a road trip with her friends to see a concert, or treating her friends whom she adored to dinner out. A devoted fashionista, Keara was always experimenting with different styles, a bold hair color and make up and delighted her parents with impromptu fashion shows from the time she could walk. As smart as she was vibrant, Keara was also a dedicated student, intent on earning a bachelor’s degree in Business.

No two parents could have loved their child more and she is immortalized in the countless professional quality photographs her loving father captured of her, the wind in her hair, her hands on the reins. A lifetime lived in 19 years, every minute with joy, love and grace, Keara Belle your courage and fearlessness, generosity and spirit are an inspiration. We know she would have wanted her love for horses and riding to be a legacy that makes it possible for young people like her to pursue their dream and recognize their accomplishments.

It is in Keara Belle’s spirit of Love, Generosity, Loyalty and Competition we create the Keara Belle Obrzut Legacy Fund.  This fund will help equestrians reach their education goals through scholarships and recognize the achievements of equestrians in the show ring.

Please help us in making these goals and Keara Belle’s name is never forgotten.

Thank you for your love and support.
