IN HONOR OF THE LATE MINISTER KAREN LAYLOR (MAY 4, 1971 – MARCH 8, 2021)

“She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks.
She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.” PROVERBS 31:17, 20 (NIV)

Tuesday, March 8, 2022, marked one year since Minister Karen Laylor went home to be with the Lord.

Marking the first anniversary of her death, her widower, Reverend Kevin Laylor, and their sons, Kimani, and Kyle have decided to create a Memorial Fund in her honor. This Memorial Fund is to continue her legacy of making a difference in people’s lives, to support her life passions of serving and investing in the lives of children and youths, and to empower youths for Christ.

Minister Laylor served as a Sunday School teacher and later as the Superintendent of the Sunday School Department at the Power of Faith Ministries (PFM) International headquarters in Portmore, St. Catherine. She went on to serve as the Advisor to the Sunday School Superintendent at the Power of Faith Ministries (PFM) Grove Road Assembly in Kingston, Jamaica.  Later, in the United States, she provided crucial support to the Sunday School Department of the PFM Brooklyn Assembly and was an integral part of the Vacation Bible School (VBS) in that Assembly.   It is indisputable that Minister Laylor has left an indelible mark in every area of ministry that she has served.

Nothing can diminish the pride we have for Karen, or the comfort we feel in our hearts knowing that she touched people with her heart. To know that she has inspired others to pursue their life passions and follow their dreams, to see how she has impacted the lives of others, eases the pain of our loss.

To our church community, family, and friends that continue to celebrate Karen’s life with us, we are eternally grateful for your love and support. We know her memory will live on in each of you, as it will in us. Thank you for showing us the impact that she left on each of you. Although her life was short, it was full, and she accomplished so much.  She cherished every moment and she would want all of us to do the same. Be kind to one another and be the best person you can be, to everyone you encounter.

Our Mission is to raise funds through the Karen Laylor Memorial Fund, to finance our annual Vacation Bible School so that youths can develop their full potential as they pursue moral and spiritual excellence. One hundred percent of funds donated will be channeled directly into the operation of the VBS defraying the costs of materials, meals, field trips, awards and recognition of outstanding students as well as educational grants for students in need.  Our hope is that this fund can provide support to children and young adults all over the world.

Through your generosity and partnership, she can continue impacting the world with the spirit of excellence, kindness, and love for others as she would have were she still living.

We look forward to continuing the Karen Laylor Memorial Fund for many years to come!
