Brandon Thomas-Carson Memorial Fund

The Brandon Thomas Carson (1993 to 2017) Memorial Fund has been established to honor our son, brother, and friend. Brandon passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on September 3, 2017. Brandon was 24 years old.

About Brandon Carson

Brandon was a smart and friendly man, a loyal and funny friend and a dedicated and passionate member of the family. Whenever he walked into the room, you knew—the sun shined a little brighter and the mood was always lighter. Brandon had an enormous love for people of all ages and would always greet people with a warm smile and respect.

Brandon’s cheerful personality flowed from his unique ability and interest to engage in conversation, with anyone and at anytime.  Brandon loved sports, especially golf which he often played with friends and family members. Brandon was passionate about food, always looking for a new restaurant in search of his favorite dish “polpo.”

Brandon was working as a personal instructor, and often challenged himself to improve his skills and knowledge. His clients viewed him not only as a trainer interested in improving their physical fitness but also someone interested in improving their life.

His clients were his life and there was a common bond in many respects. One client described Brandon: “You never know where you will meet good people in life…someone who makes you laugh, challenges you, shares a common view on the turmoils of the world, but above all is fundamentally good. Brandon Carson was such a man.  Brandon was a shining light in the gym. No matter who walked down the stairs at Flatiron, there was always a warm welcome and a cheery smile. He knew everyone by name, and personally. Everyone knew Brandon and would walk over just to shake his hand and say hello.  His focus on fitness was an inspiration. Never the sort of coach who would stress you out—always willing to take you that one step further each time—so much so that you didn’t realize he was transforming you until one day he says “Hey you’re starting to look good…be careful out there!” It’s rare to find someone who can connect with people in such an honest and human way. Walking into a new gym…sitting down at a new restaurant, meeting a new fitness client and making a new friend.  Brandon Carson was such a man and brought happiness to the world as a result.”
