Connor Kasin Memorial Foundation

This memorial fund was established to honor the memory of Connor Kasin and to support causes near to Connor’s heart. On November 30, 2024, Connor, a 17 year old hockey player passed away suddenly during a game. Connor was playing with his high-school team, the Massapequa Chiefs, in a pre-season charity event when he suffered a major cardiac event between periods. Despite courageous efforts by first responders, doctors and nurses, efforts to resuscitate Connor were unsuccessful and we sadly lost him to the angels that night.
As active and involved parents of three boys, Connor’s parents, Mary & Craig Kasin, know first-hand the sacrifice and commitment required to support their children’s dreams. This fund will honor Connor’s memory by supporting causes close to Connor’s heart. In his memory, we will focus on families, individuals and organizations who may lack the financial means to follow their dreams.
About Connor
Connor was in his senior year at Massapequa high school when he passed away. Massapequa was his home since birth, where he lived happily with his parents, Mary & Craig, and his two brothers, Christian and Cole. Connor lived a full and active life, as a multi-sport athlete, a musician, a student, a brother and friend.
Connor’s passion for the sport of hockey started at a young age. Those who know him can remember him in skates from almost the time he was able to walk. He started playing hockey in the Town of Oyster Bay (NY) youth program and progressed to playing travel hockey for the Long Island Sharks. He earned a spot on the varsity squad as a sophomore for his high-school team, the Massapequa Chiefs, and was looking forward to his final season as a senior and an on ice leader for the team.
Connor was surrounded in life by both family and friends, who treasured their time together and the many memories made. Connor was a soft-spoken young man and carried with him a smile that warmed every room he entered. He enjoyed peaceful sunsets with his friends and together they made it a point to chase as many as they could, basking in their peaceful beauty and sharing the excitement of a new day ahead.
Connor was a cherished member of a large extended family that includes 25 first cousins and was somehow always able to balance the demands of being a competitive athlete, a full-time high school student and working at a part time job, to always be present for family celebrations and gatherings.
