Glory in Our Hearts Foundation

Thank you for visiting the Glory in our Hearts Foundation website to learn more about Glory M. Rufa’s purpose-filled life. She worked tirelessly to support those most in need in her community in Northern New York. Though her life was tragically cut short by undetected heart disease at the age of 52, her spirit will continue to burn bright in the hearts of the countless people whose lives she touched.
The organization is dedicated to continuing her mission of enriching the communities of Northern New York now and for generations to follow by providing financial assistance to children in pursuit of educational and spiritual endeavors, raising awareness of heart disease, and continuing Glory M. Rufa’s charitable work.

The signature program of the foundation is the Backpack Drive targeting students age K-12 in need of financial assistance, to begin the school year with the necessary supplies for educational success. The foundation has provided 30 backpacks filled with school supplies to date.
The Foundation Scholarship provides a graduating senior with a $1,000 tuition award to begin a degree program in any human services field of study. Apply for this scholarship HERE.
The Camp Guggenheim Scholarships provide two teenagers the opportunity to attend a faith-based summer camp, the late Glory valued. The Heart Health Awareness Activity educates community members about the dangers of heart disease and promotes an effective plan for prevention.
In addition, the foundation organizes A 5K Walk/Run to Remember as the main fundraising event of the year. The event presents members of Northern New York an opportunity to donate their resources, help the foundation raise awareness of heart disease, and remember the life of a friend.
