Jillian Grace Giardullo Memorial Fund

“Try to keep my memory alive. Whether you have a fundraiser each year. Do a breast walk. Something to keep my spirit alive.”

July 18, 2017 — In the over ten months since Jill’s passing, that’s the one part from her will which has remained with me the most. And in the weeks after September 20, in between traveling and penning two online tributes in her memory (here and here), I contemplated what I could do which would accomplish just that, one of her last wishes.

So today, on what would have been our fifteenth anniversary of meeting one another, and in partnership with CharitySmith Non-Profit Foundation, I would like to announce the Jillian Grace Giardullo Memorial Fund.

What makes Jill’s Foundation different from all of the other cancer research foundations and charities which already exist out there? It’s this simple: 100% of the funds will be donated directly to underinsured or uninsured women in their thirties who are diagnosed with breast cancer. Because however tragic Jill’s story was, there are hundreds of thousands of women living in this country right now who do not have the support that she had– either financially, personally, or both– to fight this disease.

So that’s how we will keep Jill’s spirit alive: by helping others in need– as that’s exactly what she lived for, in both her personal and professional life– who suffer from the same disease she was diagnosed with at the age of 30.
