Ken Eissing Memorial Fund

About Ken Eissing

Ken Eissing was born June 2, 1945 in Brooklyn, NY the middle child of Harry and Anna Eissing.  He proudly served our country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War.  Ken worked in the New York State Dept. of Corrections for over 30 years, retiring as a Lieutenant.   He settled in Westbrookville, NY in the early ‘70s and was a resident of Westbrookville for over 40 years.  He was a member of Holy Name R.C. Church in Otisville, NY, and a former member of the Westbrookville Fire Dept.

Ken was a devoted husband to Kathy Eissing for 46 years with their love growing deeper each passing year.  Ken and Kathy had 3 children, Ken, Kristine, and Kerri and created an active, loving household where deep lifelong values were instilled in each of their children:  Work Hard, Always Do Your Best, Play to Win, Treat People with Respect, Be Nice, Be Optimistic.  These values are the foundation that has enabled each of Ken’s children to succeed academically, in their careers, as parents, and as spouses.

As great a father as Ken was, he was an even better grandfather – a truly larger than life presence in the life of his 5 grandchildren: Danny, Michael, Caitlyn, Ryan, and Alexandra.  Known as “Poppo” to his grandchildren, he formed a remarkable bond with each of his grandchildren based on love, laughter, fun, and the teaching of those same core values that he instilled so deeply in his children.  Through the example he set to his children and grandchildren, his impact and legacy will live on for generations to come.

The Ken Eissing Sr Memorial Scholarship fund is created to honor the legacy and values of Ken Eissing. Given each year to a graduating High School Senior who through their achievements in academics, athletics, or community leadership best exemplifies the core values that Ken worked so hard to instill: Work Hard, Always Do Your Best, Play to Win, Treat People with Respect, Be Nice, Be Optimistic.
