Liam Gordon continues to be loved endlessly by his family who wish to carry on the positivity of his life through Liam’s Legacy. Even though suicide claimed his life at far too young an age, Liam lives on in our memories and actions done in his honor. While Liam is no longer able to pursue his passions or realize his dreams, Liam’s Legacy strives to accomplish and support them as a tribute to Liam’s life.
Liam had an amazing ability to combine strong convictions with a kind heart. He would greet friends with a firm handshake and family with a hug, both of which were followed by genuine interest in the other person and an energy that could light up a room. Fiercely patriotic, Liam was steadfast in his beliefs and wise beyond his years when it came to mechanics and history. When Liam was interested in a topic, he would spend countless hours researching every aspect of it. Liam’s knowledge of WW II, military vehicles and aircraft, and cars impressed all who were fortunate enough to have a conversation with him. During these talks, Liam would often quickly eclipse the other person’s knowledge base, and delight in sharing the additional information he could provide. His love and knowledge of automobiles began when he was a toddler. Liam’s dream was to one day be a Master Technician for Mercedes AMG with engine badges bearing his name.
Liam’s Legacy, established in 2020, is a tribute to the memory and passions of Liam Gordon. Distributions are awarded annually to students pursuing a career in the trades. Recipients are those who have demonstrated a commitment to learning a skilled trade through vocational education and/or apprenticeship. As a general guideline, beneficiaries have shown the ability to direct one’s whole energies towards the fulfilment of a particular task.
