About Nancy

Nancy was born in Hartford, Connecticut in December 1944 to the late Joseph T. and Nancy Malloy. She was a life-long resident of East Hartford, Connecticut and a graduate of East Hartford High School, Class of 1963. She married the love of her life, Bob, in 1968 and spent the next 44 years devoted to her husband and raising their three children, Sherri, Lori and Rob, while living in the same East Hartford home. Nancy loved and adored her four grandchildren, Austin, Taylor, Samantha and Julia, and had close relationships with numerous extended family members and countless friends.

Nancy was an extremely outgoing and caring person. She loved to laugh and enjoyed entertaining and spending time with family and friends. Nancy spent her life putting her family’s needs and desires above her own. One of her proudest accomplishments was always being there to support her children and grandchildren in all of their sporting events and school activities. She was very proud to be known as “The #1 Fan”. In addition to her family, Nancy also took great pride in cleaning and maintaining her home. It became such a passion for her that she began cleaning other people’s homes and touched even more lives and developed even more life-long relationships with many of her customers.

Nancy was also very active in her community. She volunteered at numerous charity events and participated in many community fund raisers. Some of Nancy’s dearest friends and closest relationships stemmed from her connections to the East Hartford Rotary Club and Women’s Club. She loved attending monthly luncheons with all the Rotary ladies and just laughing and having a good time.

Nancy passed away with her family by her side on September 4, 2012 after a courageous battle with bladder cancer. Although she was taken from us far too soon, her spirit and legacy will live on forever in the hearts of all her family and friends and everyone who knew and loved her. We sincerely thank everyone who has donated to the scholarship fund in Nancy’s memory.
