Raymond Howard Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Raymond Howard Memorial Scholarship, established in 2019, honors the memory of Attorney Raymond Howard Jr. He was a father, attorney, veteran, senator, civil rights leader and mentor to multiple generations who admired him. He was tough, ambitious, provocative, supportive and determined to leave this world a better place. He always emphasized the value of education and constantly fought to ensure equal access to the best education for all. He supported, not only his children, but all children in their quest for education. Through his encouragement, advocacy and influence, he opened doors and broke barriers in his pursuit of equal access to education for all.

This scholarship is awarded annually to high school students in underserved communities in Missouri in support of their efforts to pursue post graduate education. As a general guideline, recipients have demonstrated an understanding of excellence as a function of persistence and hard work.
