Rick Judd Memorial Educational Fund

The Rick Judd Memorial Educational Fund is a tribute to the memory of a teacher and principal who was beloved by students, parents, and teachers alike. Rick Judd — named Distinguished Principal for California in 2008 — dedicated his life to ensuring that every one of his students felt important and like they belonged to a community. As a principal at Loomis Grammar School, he took the time to learn each and every student’s name, which is rare. Rick went above and beyond to build a fun learning environment for kids by leading activities such as:

developing a reading program
creating the annual Soap Box Derby
supporting Science Camp
coaching track for many years

Distributions from the fund will go to Loomis Union School District schools to support learning in a multitude of ways. The fund administrators will work with LUSD to determine what supplies are needed, what programs need additional funding, and which students may need assistance to take part in educational programs.

Rick demonstrated his passion for education and his commitment to students every day, in actions large and small. His big heart and engaging personality made an impression on everyone who came into contact with him. Please help that legacy live on.
