Rocker Memorial Skatepark

The Town of Truckee approved Rocker Memorial Skatepark on June 21st 2022 (Permits). We have the land (TDRPD via TDPUD), we have the long term maintenance (TDRPD), we’ve fought through CEQA MND (California Environmental Quality Assessment – Mitigated Negative Declaration). We have the local contractors, designers and builders on board. We’ve done the ‘work’ to make this project a reality.

We need help with funding. We can build a 25,000sqft modern facility that:

  • Complements the other world class facilities in Truckee
  • Provides Beginner, Intermediate and Expert Terrain options
  • Significantly reduces the VMT (Vehicle Miles Traveled) for North Lake Tahoe residents to use similar facilities in Sacramento/Reno
  • Dramatically improves the drainage and beautifies the land (which is adjacent to wetlands)
  • Provides a safe, free social space for all ages & generations

We have been working since 2013 to get this expansion skatepark approved. Town approval in June 2022 was a massive milestone for us. TDRPD provided the Land Grant back in 2015, and approval within the Recreation Area Master Plan (RAMP) in Feb 2020. TDRPD has also financially committed to the park over $50K, not to mention the costs associated with long term maintenance of the facility for the next 30+ yrs. We can build it and provide a generational asset to the community, with your help.
