The Liza Cariaga-Lo Fund
The Liza Cariaga-Lo Fund, established 2025, honors the life and legacy of Dr. Liza Cariaga-Lo, a distinguished scholar, educator, and advocate for social justice, education, and inclusion. From her time as a student at UC Davis to her career across Wake Forest, Yale, Harvard, Brown and beyond, Liza exemplified the values of academic excellence, community empowerment, and transformative leadership. She dedicated her life to creating spaces, resources, and communities that empowered students and people across all stages of life and learning.
The LCLO Fund will focus on 1) providing scholarships to students from under-resourced backgrounds and 2) support programs and initiatives that aim to equip students and young professionals with the skills required to create meaningful and transformative careers. These will serve as reminders of Liza ’s tireless work and her enduring influence, inspiring the next generation of leaders to carry forward her vision of a more inclusive, equitable, and joyful world.
