Ryan never met a stranger, only friends he had not met yet.

Ryan Pincus was just that guy, the guy you only had to meet once and almost immediately you knew you had a new friend, a friend you likely felt you had met years and years prior and in so many cases you instantly had a new best friend for life.

For everyone that knew Ryan he was the guy to be jealous of: good looking, extremely fit (sometimes), extraordinarily confident, successful, generous and always ready to have a good time (anywhere, with anyone)! He just exuded that energy, an infectious energy, you weren’t going to have a bad time if Ryan was in your circle of orbit.

And he truly was up for anything. Ride to a ballgame, yep, last minute dinner, yep, wanna take a trip to Vegas, yep. To Ryan it didn’t matter, anywhere he could go with family or friends was where he wanted and needed to be. And when Ryan put his mind on something, he just got it done. No matter the effort and who he had to involve.

It’s for these and so many other reasons that we are starting the Ryan Pincus Memorial Fund to carry on his zest for life, his need to experience, his ability to succeed and his need to surround himself with the people who mattered most and create those special moments that will last a lifetime.

Our mission will be to carry on that promise, to deliver that kind of opportunity for others in his memory. To start, our family has created the Ryan Pincus Wrestling Scholarship at Madison High School, his alma mater. And each year we’ll award a scholarship to a deserving senior wrestler from Madison High School. It won’t necessarily be the best wrestler, it will be the kid who works the hardest, the kid who cares the most and the kid who gives his very best when he steps on the mat. Those guys will be part of Ryan’s Squad!

More to come on what else we can do, how else we can honor him each and every day, but at the moment this feels like the right thing to do, the right thing to put our energy into. We hope that each and every person who knew the man that Ryan Pincus was will take some time to be a part of it.
