Nick Novaky BECOME AWESOME Foundation
We are providing a yearly cash award to the 12th grade student at Mt. Olive High School who picks up the torch
and continues Nick’s life philosophy.
The cash award will be provided to that 12th grade student at Mt. Olive High School who, based upon peer nominations from students at Mt. Olive High School, demonstrates leadership and compassion. A different recipient will be selected each year. The cash award is a one-time payment to the recipient. The student should exibit at least some the following:
persist in productive pursuits in the arts, athletics, political/ social action OR academics despite obstacles;
tends not to submit to negative influence of peers;
is respectful of fellow students of various backgrounds;
exhibits an ability to support students who may have used poor judgement in the past but who then show evidence of hard work to make life changes;
is welcoming of new students.
Nominees would be expected to attain passing final grades, attend school the requisite number of days, and be an involved member of the high school community.
The student need not plan to enroll in a traditional post-graduation 2 or 4 year college but would need to explain a productive use for the funds upon application.
