CHARITYSMITH Nonprofit Foundation was created by Brooks Rohlen in memory of his late father, Douglas F. Smith, who was killed in a commercial airplane crash at Aspen Airport in 1970.
Since its inception in 1994, the intention of CHARITYSMITH has been to honor the memory of a loved one by helping others achieve their dreams. CHARITYSMITH’s first endeavor, the Douglas F. Smith Memorial Fund, was created to assist students, artists, and athletes.
Over the years, others have worked with CHARITYSMITH to memorialize their loved ones in a similar manner. CHARITYSMITH’s nonprofit efforts have grown from a single scholarship to include a broad range of memorial endeavors.
You can honor your loved one by creating a memorial fund with CHARITYSMITH in our GET STARTED SECTION.
Finding CHARITYSMITH was a gift for me. After a personal tragedy, they made it easy for me to start a foundation to honor my son. Amazing work!

CHARITYSMITH was such a help to us when we wanted to set up a scholarship fund in honor of my sister who had just passed away. People were eager to donate and we needed something done quickly. The fund was set up within a week of contacting CHARITYSMITH and the website was ready to take donations – it was that simple.
